The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what's bringing you in, what you've been experiencing, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with — it's as much about you deciding if this feels like a good fit as it is about me understanding your situation.

Progress in therapy isn't always linear, but over time you should notice shifts — feeling clearer, reacting differently to stress, or finding it easier to navigate relationships. We'll check in regularly on how things are going and adjust our approach if needed.

That's more common than you might think. A lot of the men I work with are coming to therapy for the first time. There's no script or "right way" to do it. We go at your pace, and I'll help guide the conversation. Most people find the first session feels more natural than they expected.

You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you've been feeling stuck, disconnected, or like something is off — even if you can't quite name it — that's a valid reason to reach out. Therapy works best when you don't wait until things get worse.
